When does each solstice occur in the northern hemisphere?
A solstice occurs in a single moment for the entire globe; the hemispheres don’t have separate solstices. The two solstices in the year are named differently depending on which hemisphere, northern or southern, you are in. They happen around December 21 (winter solstice in the north, summer solstice in the south) and around June 21 (summer solstice in the north, winter solstice in the south).
