When does Commissioner Swofford plan to talk with University of Miami President Donna Shalala again?
John Swofford: “Whenever she’s ready to that. I don’t have anything set up with her at the moment. Obviously our visitations and her meeting today (in Washington) is a part of the on-going process. I’m sure that will take place soon, if not the end of this week certainly the first of next week.” What are Commissioner Swofford’s thoughts on taking three teams from another conference ?where will that leave the BIG EAST? John Swofford: “If you look back over the last decade, I think there have been 30-something changes in conference memberships – some larger than others. I think what we’re looking at is a continuing evolvement of the change in the landscape of conferences. We participated in it to a smaller degree in 1991 when Florida State joined our conference. That was rather minimal compared to a number of other changes that took place during the ’90s in other parts of the country.
