When does child obesity become child abuse?
I thing anyone who lets their young child become obese should count as abusing their child. It is harmful and irresponsible parenting. I am also borderline obese and have completely changed my eating habits, lost 50 pounds, and have begun exercising daily in order to teach my daughter healthy eating habits. I find it appalling that parents of obese children don’t so anything to prevent that. I am a Pre-K teacher and had an obese child in my class one year. The parents (one a doctor) complained that we didn’t give the children enough food because we would not allow them to have more than 3 pieces of pizza so they sent in extra food; cupcakes, chips, fruit snacks, candy, etc… It made me so sick!
