A father start to love his child before the child is born, especially the first one. If the child is a teeange daughter from a previous relationship, if the child knew him he will still show love, but if not it depends on the what the mother told the child previously, if she is accomodating then the man will give her all the love. Blood is thicker than water, the closeness will be there.

Hopefully before the child is born he starts to love that child but if not then maybe when he gets to see and hold the child the love will start. And if he finds out he has a teenage daughter, yes it might be weird at first but he should start to love her as he gets to know her.
