When do Rutgers students choose Ph.D. advisors and thesis topics?
Early in the fall term, the faculty presents ongoing research in their respective groups to the new students. Based on this wide array of research presentations and other materials available, you select research projects that interest you and counsel 1-on-1 with the faculty members conducting those research projects. You will also meet other graduate students in the program to help inform your decision. You will be asked to make your selection during January before the beginning of the second term of your enrollment.
