When circumcision is performed on gentiles in infancy, it is done within a few days of birth if it is being done in the maternity hospital. However, circumcision can be performed easily at any age. Circumcision is very popular in the USA, where women are more fastidious than some places in Europe and have become used to the benefits which come to a sexual relationship where the man is circumcised. Accordingly, American mothers are conscious of the importance of circumcising their sons. In the UK, where I live, about a third of the men in my generation (aged 50-65) are circumcised, but very few young men have this benefit because our National Health Service does not pay for any procedure which is not deemed “absolutely necessary”.
