You can continue feeding him puppy food up to 6 months then switch to Junior until he is 1 year old when he should be having Adult. If he is a very large breed you can start Adult food earlier,i.e 6/8 months because too much protein will cause him to grow too quickly and to slow this down a little it is better to feed him the Adult food to stop him going through the skinny phase.

The earlier the better as it will strengthen the jaw muscles. First mix it with the puppy chow, adding a little at a time. Eventually he will just eat the adult formula. Give him bones to chew on. There are also bones that clean the teeth while serving as a nice treat. *..

All puppies should be switched at 6moths old or the protein in the puppy food can mess with there joints.

I think the vet would have the best answer. I’d also check with the vet in regards to the type of food because he may have a different diet requirement than the standard dog. Generally, I believe it is recommended around 8 months.

My vet instructed me to keep mine on puppy food until he is 1 year.
