When do I receive financial aid/loan money?
jb: Every school is different in how they process aid offers, and how and when they notify the applicants of what they are being offered. In the last few years, email notification has become much more popular. Many (but certainly not all) schools send their students an email saying “Your aid offer is now available. Log on to your student account at www.yourschoolnamehere.edu/financialaid to review your aid offer, then be sure to let us know which forms of aid you wish to accept. Other schools still use the old-fashioned approach of mailing an aid offer letter directly to your home. If your school’s priority aid deadline has long since passed, and you haven’t heard anything in several weeks, the quickest road to “peace of mind” is to contact financial aid and ask when the aid notices are expected to go out.
