When Do I Qualify for AIChE’s RETIRE Rate?

0

The retirement rate is covered in Section V, Paragraph 3 of AIChE’s Bylaws which states: “Dues will be reduced to 50% for members when they reach the earliest date of eligibility for full retirement as defined by the Social Security Administration.” The social security chart is online at www.ssa.gov.retirechartred.htm. Full retirement age is defined in years and months. For example if you were born in 1941 you would be eligible for retirement at age 65 and 8 months. If you were born in 1940, the social security retirement age would be 65 and 6 months. AIChE will only look at the “Age” of eligibility, not the months. Therefore, in the example above, if a member was born in 1940 or 1941, you will be eligible for AIChE Retirement rate the dues year you turn 65. Here is a chart that may assist you.
