When do I need to replace my Liqui-Cel® Membrane Contactors?
The contactor replacement time will depend on your application. For a general O2/CO2 removal application, where the contactors are exposed only to ambient water temperatures, and N2 or air, we estimate and recommend a 5 – 7 year replacement period. If in your application the Liqui-Cel Membrane Contactor is exposed to oxidizing agents, chemicals, hot water or severe temperature swings, the life expectancy of the contactor will be shortened. The life reduction will depend on the chemical and exposure time. The first sign of replacement will be a small performance drop over time, but you need to discriminate between fouling and end of useful life. Therefore a cleaning procedure is recommended before replacing your membranes. If after cleaning, the membrane’s performance is re-established, no replacement is needed.
