When do clothes shops have their sales?
I used to work for Monsoon, and there is usually a mid-season Spring sale. I can’t remember when it starts, but I’m almost certain it’s before April. They tend to start it all of a sudden, and quite a lot of items go into it. A bit of insider advice for Monsoon, if you happen to go into there before the sale and there are pencilled numbers on the price tag, this usually means the sale is about to start, as the markings relate to the sale price codes. Look out for this, and this should tell you the sale will be starting within a week. Also, if you find any imperfections in the clothes, point this out to the sales assistant, they can usually offer a further 10% off the sale price. I don’t know if other shops do this, but we used to do this all the time in Monsoon. They’ll offer that discount at non-sale times as well, so be on the look-out!
