When do cats start coughing up furballs?
Some long haired cats will throw up furballs. Sometimes cats don’t. I would advise if your cat does throw up furballs, is you can get some medication from the vet where they give you an ointment that you put in the cats mouth. This lubricates so they don’t throw up as much. I’d also investigate further if the furballs seem like there every day as sometimes excessive throwing up can lead to internal damage (always get blood tests and urine samples in case this keeps happening). Read this site, it explains more about how and when cats get hairballs, and what to do if they get one.
