When do babies double their birth weight?
The rule of thumb is double by about 6 months and triple by about 1 year, but of course, it will vary from baby to baby. It sounds like your daughter is doing just fine. Don’t worry about the numbers too much; by itself weight is a poor indication of overall health. As long as she is happy, otherwise healthy, meeting developmental milestones and gaining weight appropriately and proportionately, then don’t worry. Doctors just use growth charts to track that a baby is following an appropriate growth pattern (keeping in mind that not all babies follow a standard growth curve), but it’s not a good idea to focus too much on them.
