when did you switch to Moss Eisley, and eventually Eisley?
Yes, we started off as The Towheads back in 1997 then upgraded to Moss Eisley in 2000. Warner Bros.’ attorneys freaked out over the “Lucas” infringement (Moss Eisley – spaceport on Planet Tatooine, the cantina with the alien musicians.) Anyway, we struggled and struggled for months. Nothing came. We ended up lopping off the “Mos” when, in 2003, our management called saying “Coachella won’t book you without a band name. It was a rushed choice but we were fine with it and we never have regretted it. Stacy actually made the decision – citing that The Beatles survived loping off “Silver”.
