When did you start working at Tundra Leather (then a Tandycrafts location )?
PG – At about 12 years old, I washed windows and mopped floors at Tandy in exchange for tools and supplies. A year or so later, I cut up a Tandy catalogue, pasted up a personal catalogue of products I could make, and sold belts and wallets door-to-door. In high school, I worked at the Tandy store as a retail staffer and class instructor. H – You left Hamilton after high school. What brought you back? PG – After high school, I spent a few years at Stelco. In 1976, I went to work for Tandycrafts in the Barrie head office/dealer division. In the fall of 1977, I came back to Hamilton, got married, and took over the Stoney Creek Tandy store as Manager. In about 1979, I took over the running of the Hamilton store as well. In 1982, while still working for Tandycrafts, a partner and I started Tundra Mfg. Inc. and made accessories for the shooting sports.
