When did u.s. get out of the great depression?
The stock market crash of 1929 did not cause the depression, but it certainly increased the difficulty of recovery. The depression ended in 1939 and caused major political changes, most notably the New Deal that involved large scale federal relief programs, aid to agriculture, support for labor unions, and the formation of the New Deal coalition by Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
