When did they stop giving American Presidents nicknames, e.g., Honest Abe or Old Hickory?
Gee, I’ve heard a lot of nicknames for Bush and Clinton these last few years, most of which are not endearing. The political scene has gotten really nasty and too many people don’t have the respect for whoever the President is. Unlike the previous answer, I think the the polictical process is very saturated with catch phrases, quick fixes and little content. When I used to think the whole world was like the 1960’s TV series, “Leave it to Beaver”, I thought the cream of the crop led the nation. It’s all about special interest payoffs and power players behind the scenes…and they in turn deceive the common man to vote for their Democrat or Republican candidate. Yep, I’m cynical.
