When did the trucking industry first feel the drop? Some say as early as 2006?
We saw an abnormal dropoff in October and November of ’06 and many industry analysts said we were in a freight recession throughout 2007 and going into 2008. For Old Dominion, it was a little bit of a different story. Although we felt like the economy was down, we continued to have very strong tonnage growth throughout 2007, 2008, and our profitability was real good.
