When did the Texas polygamy sect move to Texas?
You can read about the FLDS and its move to Texas in Wikipedia. The FLDS bought the land about four years ago. The State of Texas acted as quickly as possible. The State needed probable cause and didn’t get that until receiving that call, which could have been a fake call. The State acted in good faith upon the call and that is all that is required for probable cause. When the FLDS bought the land, they stated that it was for a hunting retreat. Texas soon realized that this was untrue and was able to verify that it was an FLDS compound. It investigated the nature of the FLDS and found that the group was not law-abiding. It appears that Texas had a plan for raiding the compound in case there ever was probable cause. It did have probable cause this year, which is lucky for Texas as it would have been more difficult to manage the situation had it grown over the next few years.
