When did the Roman Empire rise and fall to power?
Most historians place the rise of the Roman Empire around the time of 800 BC. The decline and fall is some what more controversial. The death of Theodosius in 395 divided the Empire into East and West for administrative purposes, and given to his two sons, Arcadias in the East and Honorius in the West. After this point the empire will never reunite until Justinian in the mid-6th century. There was the sack of Rome in 410 which many say led to the fall of the western part of the empire, while the eastern portion was able to flourish for another hundred years or so. That said, I think the fall of from the Great powerful Roman Empire occurred at the time of Justinian’s death in 565 AD.
