When did the original three stooges begin?
The Stooges were born in 1925 with Ted Healy, Moe Howard, and Shemp Howard. They were originally called ‘Ted Healy and His Stooges’ and kept this name until Healy and Moe Howard split in 1934 due to Healy’s problems with alcohol. When they signed with Columbia Pictures after the breakup to do two reel comedies, the name was changed to ‘The Three Stooges’.
