Handbridge Shotokan started officially on the 4th May of 1969 though there had been Karate in the Dojo before which was formally a Judo school. It started and continues to this present day as a TOTALLY NON PROFIT MAKING CLUB run entirely for the passing on of Karate in The Community in a safe and professional way. Karate is not victory or defeat of an opponent but the perfection of the character of Its participants. This vital maxim of Funakoshi is only achieved through regular training.
