When did the exhibition stand and display solution idea begin?
The story of Nimlok, now a worldwide leader in the manufacture of exhibition and display stand products, begins in 1970 when the late Neil Nimmo, an artist and photographer, invented a clip, panel and tube system. Neil, an RAF bomber pilot in World War II, was shot down over France and hidden by the French Resistance until liberated by advancing American armies. After the war he went on to become a successful commercial photographer with a number of major multi-national corporations as clients including Ford General Motor Group and General Foods. Finding that he needed a portable back drop display stand which he could take round and nothing being available, he set out to invent one. With limited commercial experience, Neil turned to two good friends, Gerald Perutz and Gordon Wixley for help in developing his new exhibition display stand idea.
