When did the district begin making plans for the bond proposal?
Large projects like the one being put before voters on January 30th typically require several years of study. For several years the Board of Education had been studying numerous possibilities to address overcrowding at the high school and inadequate space in the elementary and junior high facilities. These plans were ultimately shelved, and a new investigation began two years ago, spearheaded by a committee of the Board of Education, to address instructional space needs as well as infrastructure upgrade. A new architectural firm was recruited, and the committee started at square one to develop a justifiable plan.
