When did the Deployment of Mobile Phone Network Infrastructure Code come into effect?
The code was developed by the then Australian Communications Industry Forum (ACIF), now known as Communications Alliance Ltd, and is titled Industry Code ACIF C564:2004 Deployment of Mobile Phone Network Infrastructure. It came into full effect on 7 April 2005 when it was registered by the ACMA. The code is a revised version of Industry Code ACIF C564:2002 Deployment of Radiocommunications Infrastructure, which was registered by the former Australian Communications Authority on 10 October 2002. Sections 5 and 7 of the original code came into full effect on 10 April 2003. Once a code is registered, the ACMA can enforce it.
