When did RVing begin as a past time?
RVing is really older than the auto. In the 1800s city people went camping pulling their tents and supplies in horse drawn conveyances. The auto dramatically changed the number of miles traveled and carrying capacity. The industry developed with the introduction of trailers and “housecars”. Most early units were homemade until the mid 20s when some brand name manufacturers began to appear around the country.
