When Did PageRank Start?
PageRank began in 1995 as a project, and was developed by the founders of Google. PageRank became part of Google in 1998, and is a trademark of Google. PageRank is featured on both Google Toolbar and Google Directory. On Google Toolbar, PageRank is used to rank web pages from 0 to 10. On the toolbar, a PageRank bar will appear with the ranking next to it. With the Google directory, only a green bar is displayed rather than a numeric value. PageRank on the Google toolbar can be accessed by clicking on ‘Settings’, then ‘Options’ and then ‘More’. Under the ‘Even More Buttons’ section the box next to PageRank and PageInfo should be ticked in order for the PageRank to be displayed on the toolbar.
