When did Messier-Bugatti become part of the Safran group?
Safran is the name of the group formed by the merger of Snecma and Sagem on May 11, 2005. The group first took control of Bugatti in 1968. In 1971 it acquired a 34% stake in Messier, raising this to a majority stake two years later. Since then, Messier-Bugatti has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Safran.
