Because of his concert schedule and high-profile invitations sent to Jimmy Buffett, there’s quite a bit of speculation and hope that this may be the year the singer-songwriter will make an appearance at Cheeseburger in Caseville. “There’s a lot of buzz about it … it’s quite a coincidence,” said Caseville Chamber of Commerce President Steve Louwers in regard to Buffett’s Aug. 13 concert at DTE Energy Music Theatre. Louwers said he hasn’t received any indication Buffett will make an appearance at this year’s Cheeseburger festival. “It’s just a coincidence that he’s having a concert on that Thursday,” he said. Even if the popular island singer did swing by to see Cheeseburger in Caseville, any appearance would probably be very low-key, Louwers said. “Oh absolutely — he’d have to be incognito,” he said.
