When did human trafficking start in Latin-American history?
Human trafficking began in all regions of Latin America in the late 16th century when ships delivered Africans as slave labor to harvest the crops. Although slavery was abolished throughout Latin America between 1823 and 1888, human trafficking continues to plague the countries of this region.
