When Did Dr Schlessinger Get Her First Big Break As A Radio Talk Show Host?
Dr Laura Schlessinger had to wait until the latter half of the 1980’s to get her first break as the host of a talk show on radio. At that time she worked for KFI, which was considered to be one of the most prestigious and powerful radio stations in Los Angeles, California. She began to fill in for the station’s well-known night-time presenter, Barbara De Angelis. De Angelis hosted a talk show based on relationships. At that time, Toni Grant hosted a talk show that went on air at noon-time. When De Angelis replaced Grant as the host of the noon-time talk show, Dr Schlessinger got the night-time slot which was left vacant by De Angelis. She later replaced De Angelis on the popular noon-time show as well, when the latter left the radio station.
