Under Chapter 16A, a prescribed body can provide information relating to the safety, welfare or wellbeing of a child or young person to another prescribed body (i.e. there does not have to be a request made; information can be provided to an agency in the new area to alert them to the family’s needs). Consent is not necessary for the exchange of information; however, it is good practice to keep parents and families informed at all stages.
