1. Using SUD look ups from within ESR when the interface is in operation. A ‘fuzzy’ search is used to find matching entries on name and NI number, case sensitivity is taken into account in the search. If a match is found but the small discrepancies in case or spelling the user should determine a course of action for correction of the data to the appropriate entry. 2. Using the data match / cleanse / load service offered by the ESR data team for matching records between ESR and the SUD prior to the implementation of the ESR interface again a ‘fuzzy’ match is adopted. Any discrepancies will be highlighted in the reports produced and cleansing will need to take place before the data load. This procedure is covered in the M-3908 data cleansing guidance document.
