When can the postholder start work? And how do I set up their appointment?
For out of country cases the work permit is valid (and the postholder can start work) as soon as he/she enters the UK. For in-country cases, the individual can only start work when both the work permit and further Leave to Remain applications are approved, unless the postholder already has Leave to Remain in the UK which allows them to take full-time employment with UCL. In order to set up your postholder’s appointment with UCL you should fill in the appropriate appointment form (available here) and contact your HR Operations Team contact for further information.
