When can my pet rabbits start breeding?
Why do you want to start breeding them, just like other animals, once they have babies they are no longer playful themselves, not so much fun any more. I have never agreed that all animals need to have babies before spaying or nuetering, but I guess if you are going into the rabbit producing business, then at least I hope your boyfriend had the decency to get you rabbits that are not related to each other before you start breeding them. My rabbit is 7 years old and she has never had a litter of babies and she still runs and jumps and plays with her toys and plays tag with us and I would hate to do anything to change that. Rabbits can start breeding at a young age, by the time they are 4 or 5 months old but I would be nice and wait until they were at least 9 months that way the body has a better chance of producing healthy babies. They only take 28 days to produce a litter and can get pregnant within 2 days of having babies to start it all over again so with 4 rabbits you could be over-
