When Can Kittens Eat Kitten Food?
Kittens start to eat solids at about 6 weeks old. Sometimes a little later too. You can start them out on a soft food for a couple of days, and then move them to the hard food. This gives their tummies time to adjust to taking in semi-solids and gets them ready for the solids. When you start them on the solids, you also want to keep water out for them too. At this time, they are going to start having runny poo, and then solid bowel movements. You will want to take them to the litter box several times a day until they get the idea of what they’re supposed to do in there.
