When can I start taking regular academic (non-ESL/University) courses at the U of R?
Once you pass the 050 Advanced Level, you have passed the language requirement to study at the U of R, which means you do not need to take TOEFL or other English proficiency tests. Most students coming from their home country to study at the U of R ESL Program can expect to take (on average) two to three ESL semesters in order to acquire the necessary skills for success in university courses.
