When can i start stage 2 baby food?
2nd stage foods should be given to your baby after you’ve introduced ALL 1st stage foods.
1st stage foods are single-ingredient foods. This is done so when you first start introducing foods to your baby, if there is an allergic reaction it’s easiest to tell which food allergy your baby has. You should spend 2-3 days on one food before moving on to a new food, to make sure there are no reactions.
If your baby has any form of reaction, such as a rash or even an irregular bowel movement, talk to your doctor about what it could be, before moving on to the next food.
Once you have tried all 1st stage foods and your baby is happy with them with no symptoms of allergies, you can move on to stage 2 foods. These foods give your baby a variety of flavors with a mixture of ingredients. 2nd foods start introducing meals, rather than one food in a jar. These dinners offer combinations of pureed vegetables, fruits, grains, and poultry
