When can i start exercising after a cesarean delivery?

It’s according to what your recovery period is. Most likely, you can start doing light exercising (walking, jogging, squats, arm and back exercises, etc… but no abs, no legs. If you plan on doing moderate to heavy exercising, you should wait the customary 6 weeks. There should be no bruising, swelling around the c-section, and no pain/pressure before you try to exercise. If you have any problems… wait another week or so. FYI…. you can start walking on day 1 or 2 after a Csection. Light walking… but it is very good to get up as soon as you can. It helps with healing as well as weight loss.

If you listen to your body, you will know. Maybe start with some light exercising such as yoga at home (there is a TV channel on sky which has lots of light exercises on it – I think its on channel 275) and then progress to something more advanced. You are the only person that knows if you are ready to start yet or if you are still too sore. Hope this helps!
