When can I add my eligible dependents (spouse and children only) to the health, dental and vision insurance plans?

Employees must enroll eligible dependents during the first 30 days of employment (or within 30 days of becoming eligible for benefits), during the annual open enrollment period (usually during the month of May each year) and within 30 days of a qualifying event. Qualifying events are defined by the insurance carriers (events such as: birth, adoption, marriage or loss of coverage due to spouse’s employment change or loss of spouse’s COBRA coverage.) Employees adding dependents to the health plan must also add the same dependents to the district dental plan and vise versa. Employees are responsible to pay the premium to cover their eligible dependents.
