When can Bartolo Colon and Jered Weaver be expected to re-join the Angels rotation?
Colon has made considerable progress in his rehab from a rotator cuff tear he suffered last July. He wasn’t expected to be back in the Angels’ rotation until mid-season but he worked hard and has really impressed pitching coach Mike Butcher and Manager Mike Scioscia with his bullpen sessions, batting practices and simulated games. The Angels are hopeful that Colon will be back by late April and it seems reasonable enough since Colon has already appeared in camp games and will work his way to the rotation by continuing to pitch in spring games. In Weaver’s case, he says he is pain-free for the first time in a long time after dealing with biceps tendinitis and is slated to make his debut on April 16 in Boston.
