When can a policeman use his baton?

0

In self defence, or when a person harmful to others will no co-operate. My partner has been Policing for 2yrs and has only used his baton 2 or 3 times during times when he was being attacked or the person was trying to continue hurting another victim. Police are trained to use restraining action and only to use their baton as a last resort – some Police choose to ignore this and run around like hitting like idiots abusing their powers. That Policeman at the G20 was a psycho and came out of nowhere! People seem to be forgetting though – the Police (or whatever they really were) involved have only just came forward – why is everyone assuming they have gotten away with it? We will see what they make of it now that they have evidence! He may very well also be charged with GBH, assault and so on – if he isn’t then it is the Judge who decided on it, not the Police.
