No. Service is aggregated and breaks are disregarded. This principle also means that a teacher last in service between 1995 and 2000 – and with, say, five year’s service during this period – who is returning to service with effect from 1 September 2007 would be entitled to the maximum sick leave entitlement of 100 days’ full pay and 100 days half pay.
