Primary schools and high schools basically have the same holidays ( State schools). These holidays are for NSW other states may be different This year Jan 29th to April 11 April 28 to July 4 July 21 to September 26 October 13 to december 19 Private , non government schools usually have shorter terms than public schools as their school day is longer ;both primary and secondary . There are no special holidays for Sydney specifically … Good Friday and Easter Monday are the first within the school term Australia day is usually Jan 26 but thats a weekend day so is celebrated on Monday the 28th! Queens Birthday this year June 9th Labour Day October 6th We don’t have a Thanksgiving celebration but it sounds like a good idea !!!
