When are the best dates to climb during Mt. Fujis climbing season?
School is usually out from around July 20 thru the end of August, so if you want to beat the crowds, before July 20th on a weekday is best, but in early July you risk hiking on late lingering snow fields. At all costs, avoid the Obon holiday period, usually Aug. 13-17, and weekends, especially Saturday nights.
