When are school holidays in the US? Are there any vacations in May?

The only school holiday in May is Memorial Day which is the last Monday of the month. The other holidays that kids get the day off are Thanksgiving (Thursday), Christmas and New Year’s (usually they are off that whole week or more), spring vacation (usually a week). I think that’s all of them. Personally I don’t think they should have all that time off. And summer vacation should be shortened. Just my opinion.
