A. Non-resident, having annual taxable income in India of more than Rs. 110,000/- for financial year 2007-08, has to file a return of income in India even if tax is made zero with tax rebates/deductions. The return can be filed in the ITR applicable for this purpose. NRIs must also obtain Income tax PAN Number. The due date for filing the return is 31st July 2008. If the income includes business and the turnover exceeds Rs. 40 lakhs, then the last date is 31st October 2008.
