When are files in the /tmp directory on binkley deleted?

0

We have a cron (section 8 of man pages) job running twice a day which deletes the contents of directories which haven’t been modified in 1 day or more, all editor files a week or more older, and all non-editor files which are three or more days older. This directory is also cleaned out manually whenever it starts to get full, system administrators may have to delete files without warning. Also, the /tmp directory is cleaned out whenever binkley is rebooted. This is common practice on most UNIX systems. If you have important files, it is recommended that you do not keep them in /tmp.
