When are classes offered at The Ohio State University?
Ohio State’s academic calendar is currently based on a quarter system (we will switch to a semester system in the summer of 2012). The normal school year is comprised of three 10-week quarters (autumn, winter, and spring), each followed by four days for final exams. There is a break between quarters: three weeks between autumn and winter quarters, one week between winter and spring quarters, one week between spring and summer quarters and three weeks between summer and autumn quarters. As with all universities in the United States, enrollment is smaller during summer quarter. Summer is a time when many students choose to go home and work before returning for the new school year.
