The 2009 Gazette’s Ghouls Gone Wild Halloween Parade will be bigger, better and scarier than ever! The third annual event will be held Saturday, October 24th in downtown Oklahoma City and begins at 7:00 p.m. The parade route is the same as last year: one mile long, beginning at 11th and Walker and going south to 10th, east to Broadway and south again to 3rd Street. This year’s Grand Marshals are 50s Rockabilly Pioneers The Collins Kids, and The Flaming Lips will again host their March of 1000 Flaming Skeletons. We’re expecting about 50,000 people from all around the region to attend, and we’ll have more than 100 parade entries, including dancers, bands, arts groups and more! Oklahoma Gazette is also planning an afterparty at the end of the parade in the “Field of Screams.” The afterparty will feature live music performances from Stardeath and the White Dwarfs and The Collins Kids! News Ghouls Gone Wild Halloween Parade Published Monday, October 6, 2008 Oklahoma Gazette is sponsoring Oklahoma City’s second annual Ghouls Gone Wild Halloween Parade, which takes place the evening of Saturday, October 25th, beginning in Midtown, going through Automobile Alley and ending near 3rd and Broadway downtown. Oklahoma Gazette’s Publisher, Bill Bleakley said, “The Ghouls Gone Wild Halloween Parade is intended to inspire and celebrate artistry and creativity in Oklahoma. We hope to keep our creative people here and encourage more to move to Oklahoma.” The Grand Marshal of the 2008 parade is April Wahlin, “The Next Elvira,” and she will be riding on a custom-made float wearing her traditional Elvira costume.
